Hello and welcome!
I’m Gordon Parrish, the proud Principal of Robertson Public School. I bring almost 30 years of experience across diverse educational settings – from small towns in NSW, inner city Sydney, to Muscat International School in Oman – and I am now in my seventh year leading this wonderful school. It continues to be a privilege to serve such a dynamic and caring community.
Nestled in the heart of the beautiful Southern Highlands, just 21 kilometres from Moss Vale, Robertson Public School is steeped in history. We recently celebrated an incredible 150 years of public education, and we remain as committed as ever to providing an exceptional learning environment for every student.
Our school currently welcomes 147 students, offering a semi-rural learning experience that blends the best of tradition with innovative, forward-thinking educational practices. We are dedicated to fostering resilient learners, critical thinkers, and creative problem-solvers. While we prioritise literacy and numeracy, our curriculum is enriched through Creative and Performing Arts, Science, History, Geography, PDHPE, and a strong Instrumental Music program.
Our classrooms are vibrant, inclusive spaces equipped with the latest learning technologies – from interactive touchscreens, laptops, and iPads, to robotics and virtual reality devices. These tools enhance our exciting STEAM learning opportunities, making learning both engaging and relevant for the world our students are growing into.
At Robertson, collaboration is key. Our teachers work in professional learning teams, aligning their practice through our strategic improvement plan and ensuring every student benefits from high-quality, explicit, and evidence-based teaching, that is supported by responsive learning and support programs and access to opportunities for our High Potential and Gifted students. Ongoing professional learning is central to our approach, keeping our team at the forefront of educational excellence.
We are also proud to offer a vibrant extra-curricular program that provides opportunities in music, dance, drama, chess, multiple sports, and environmental education – ensuring every child can explore their passions, talents, and sense of responsibility towards our planet beyond the classroom.
We value the strong partnerships we share with families and the broader community. Parents and carers are actively involved in school life through our dedicated Parents and Citizens Association, classroom support, and community-based programs like Young REPS.
Our commitment extends beyond academic achievement. Through wellbeing programs such as The Resilience Project and Peer Support, we nurture the social and emotional development of our students, ensuring they feel valued, supported, and ready to embrace life’s opportunities.
I warmly invite you to be part of our school story. Whether you’d like to make an appointment through the office or simply stop for a chat when I’m out in the playground, I look forward to meeting you and welcoming you into our vibrant Robertson Public School community.
Together, we can help every child dream big, achieve their goals, and thrive both at school and beyond.
Kind Regards
Mr Gordon Parrish
