Leadership capacity building for staff and students is a high priority at RPS. Students in Year 6 lead ministries where every Year 6 student has leadership responsibilities and roles. Fortnightly meetings with the principal ensure they are developing decision making, problem solving and communication strategies. Peer Support is another avenue where their leadership skills can be developed. Our school is committed to the development of leadership skills in all students.
The Peer Support Program runs throughout term two with Year Six students leading a small group of Kindergarten through to Year Five students through a range of fun, engaging activities each week. The Peer Support Program promotes wellbeing, which encourages positive relationships, connectedness and a sense of responsibility.
